Discover the Joy of Skate Skiing!
Looking to add some energy and flow to your winter adventures? Join us at Rikert Outdoor Center for our Beginner Skate Ski Progression Clinics—a perfect introduction to this dynamic cross-country skiing technique! Whether you’re a seasoned classic skier curious about trying something new or brand-new to the sport, these clinics will help you glide into skate skiing with confidence.
What is Skate Skiing?
Skate skiing is fluid, fast and fun! The skis are stiffer and shorter than a classical ski and the boot higher around the ankle and more rigid. The poles are extra-long for maximum propulsion. Both techniques share a push-off phase and a glide phase. And both will improve your balance! It’s a great workout, an exhilarating way to explore the trails, and an activity that’s as rewarding for beginners as it is for experienced skiers.
